Decoding Postmodernist, Woke Progressivism (1)

Imagine the feeling of total freedom by which a shallow, vengeful intellect is given permission to lie with impunity in order to manipulate and intimidate others into conformity. These people are all around us, often in positions of social and/or institutional power. We must treat them with the contempt that they have so richly earned.

Let’s start by defining what I am calling a “Normal” person, they:

  1. believe that human language conveys real meaning;
  2. listen with care to what is being said;
  3. apply critical thinking to what they are told.

Now, in this time of ideological lobotomization, social media virtue trolling and entertainment saturation I suspect that “normal” is not a majority characteristic.  However, we simply can’t abandon a key civilizational concept  just because it may have become a minority state of being.

If these previously common traits are applied to the statements of our postmodern, woke Progressives the result is likely to be one of taking great offense.  It’s one thing to be accused, out of the blue, of being a “racist.”  It’s quite another to have your beloved parents, grandparents and ancestors be accused of having transferred this wicked characteristic to your through their DNA encoded for white skin.  The mind simply boggles at this vicious, stupid, and yes, overtly racist claim being made in public.  And yet, it most certainly is; from our pulpits, our media, our politicians and teachers, and from most of our corporations, universities, churches, and many other institutions.

We are therefore forced to ask if there is something deeper than stupidity driving these pronouncements.  I think there is.  And that “something” is the concept of truth and language having been dissolved over the past half-century by the Postmodernists and the Cultural Marxists who picked up this philosophy as a useful tool of civilizational destruction.

The Encyclopedia Britannica’s top-level definition of Postmodernism is as follows.

“Postmodernism, also spelled post-modernism, in Western philosophy, a late 20th-century movement characterized by broad skepticism, subjectivism, or relativism; a general suspicion of reason; and an acute sensitivity to the role of ideology in asserting and maintaining political and economic power.”

Specific sentences in the accompanying short article have a strong correlation to issues at the center of this inquiry, including:

  • “the rejection of an objective natural reality—is sometimes expressed by saying that there is no such thing as Truth.”
  • “postmodernists claim that language is semantically self-contained, or self-referential: the meaning of a word is not a static thing in the world or even an idea in the mind but rather a range of contrasts and differences with the meanings of other words.”
  • “Postmodernists deny that there are aspects of reality that are objective; that there are statements about reality that are objectively true or false; that it is possible to have knowledge of such statements (objective knowledge); that it is possible for human beings to know some things with certainty; and that there are objective, or absolute, moral values.”

Taking these ideas seriously, I simply note that they constitute a complete rejection of the concept of a “lie.”  That is, if there is no “objective natural reality,” no “statements about reality that are objectively true or false” and language is simply a “range of contrasts and differences with the meanings of other words,” then there is no difference between a statement that is the truth or a lie.  Therefore, postmodernist, woke Progressives have absolutely clear permission to say anything that advances their desire for power. In more straightforward language:

Since language has no objective meaning, but rather is just the means of obtaining and keeping power, we will therefore voice the series of grunts that will convince the morons to grant us unlimited power over their lives.

Make no mistake, while the “morons” are anyone who doesn’t share their gnosis, the particularly hated “morons” are those people who fit the above description of “normal.”
